Pakistan Inflation Rate Rises to 12.3% in November
Pakistan’s annual inflation rate increased to 12.28 percent in November of 2019 from 11.08 percent in the previous month. Prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (16.53 percent vs 13.10 percent in October); clothing & footwear (10.11 percent vs 9.18 percent); education (5.83 percent vs 4.83 percent), and communication (1.68 percent vs 1.62 percent). Meanwhile, prices rose softer for: housing & utilities (9.68 percent vs 9.71 percent); transport (10.73 percent vs 11.88 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (13.22 percent vs 13.31 percent);and furniture & household equipment (11.92 percent vs 12.14 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 1.20 percent, following a 1.0 percent gain in the previous month.

Pakistan Inflation Rate at 3-Month Low of 11.1%
Pakistan’s annual inflation rate dropped to 11.08 percent in October of 2019 from 12.55 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since July, as prices advanced softer for food & non-alcoholic beverages (13.10 percent vs 13.35 percent in September); housing & utilities (9.71 percent vs 12.75 percent); transport (11.88 percent vs 14.28 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (13.31 percent vs 14.51 percent); education (4.83 percent vs 5.21 percent), and communication (1.62 percent vs 8.97 percent). Meanwhile, prices rose faster for both furniture & household equipment (12.14 percent vs 11.33 percent) and clothing & footwear (9.18 percent vs 8.68 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.0 percent, following a 0.75 percent gain in the previous month.

Pakistan Inflation Rate Highest Since 2011
Pakistan’s annual inflation rate increased to 12.55 percent in September of 2019 from 11.63 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since June of 2011, as prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (13.35 percent vs 10.68 percent in August); housing & utilities (12.75 percent vs 12.70 percent); clothing & footwear (8.68 percent vs 8.51 percent); furniture & household equipment (11.33 percent vs 10.66 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (14.51 percent vs 14.42 percent). On the other hand, prices slowed for transport (14.28 percent vs 15.26 percent); education (5.21 percent vs 7.05 percent) and communication (8.97 percent vs 8.98 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.75 percent, following a 1.38 percent rise in the previous month.

Pakistan Inflation Rate Rises to Over 7-Year High
Pakistan’s annual inflation rate increased to 11.63 percent in August of 2019 from 10.34 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since May of 2012, as prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (10.68 pct vs 7.88 pct in July); transport (15.26 pct vs 14.67 pct); clothing & footwear (8.51 pct vs 7.40 pct); furniture & household equipment (10.66 pct vs 10.17 pct); education (7.05 pct vs 6.91 pct); miscellaneous goods & services (14.42 pct vs 11.57 pct); communication (8.98 pct vs 8.81 pct), and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (36.82 pct vs 35.75 pct). On the other hand, cost slowed for housing & utilities (12.70 pct vs 12.74 pct); health (8.89 pct vs 8.97 pct). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.38 percent, after rising 2.29 percent in July. Pakistan has changed the base year for price statistics from 2007-08 to 2015-16. In the new base year (2015-16), annual inflation came in at 10.49 percent in August.

Pakistan’s annual inflation rate rose to 10.34 percent in July of 2019 from 8.89 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since November of 2013, as prices of advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.88 percent vs 7.52 percent in June); housing & utilities (12.74 percent vs 9.99 percent); clothing & footwear (7.40 percent vs 6.21 percent); furniture & household equipment (10.17 percent vs 9.26 percent); education (6.91 percent vs 5.45 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (11.57 percent vs 9.62 percent) and health (8.97 percent vs 8.60 percent). On the other hand, cost slowed for transport (14.67 percent vs 14.96 percent); communication (8.81 percent vs 8.82 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (35.75 percent vs 22.09 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 2.29 percent, after rising 0.36 percent in June.

Pakistan Inflation Rate Slows to 8.89% in June
The inflation rate in Pakistan declined to 8.89 percent year-on-year in June 2019 from 9.11 percent in the previous month, as prices rose at softer pace for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.52 percent vs 8.58 percent in May); transport (14.96 percent vs 16.67 percent); and clothing & footwear (6.21 percent vs 6.49 percent). Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for both housing & utilities (9.99 percent vs 9.96 percent) and furnishing & household equipment (9.26 percent vs 8.75 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 0.36 percent in June, after a 0.78 percent rise in the prior month.
