Kosovo Trade Gap Widens in October
Kosovo trade deficit increased to EUR 282.8 million in October of 2019 from EUR 270.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports went down 15.6 percent to EUR 32.3 million, dragged down by lower sales of base metals and articles thereof (-36.5 percent). In contrast, exports of plastics, rubber and articles thereof increased 9.4 percent. Among major trading partners, shipments fell to Albania (-14.5 percent) and Macedonia (-1.8 percent) while those rose to Italy (474.7 percent). Imports went up 2.0 percent to EUR 315.1 million, due to higher purchases of machinery, appliances and electric materials (16.3 percent) and prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco (5.8 percent). On the other hand, imports dropped for mineral products (-5.5 percent). Imports advanced from Germany (24 percent) and Turkey (24.5 percent).

Kosovo Trade Gap Little-Changed in September
Kosovo's trade deficit rose marginally to EUR 257.3 million in September 2019 from EUR 257.2 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports advanced 4.7 percent to EUR 38.4 million, mainly boosted by shipments of crude materials, inedible, except fuels (11.2 percent) and miscellaneous manufactured articles (44.2 percent). Among major trading partners, exports went up to Albania (10.5 percent), Germany (28.2 percent), the Netherlands (27.9 percent) and Switzerland (27.1 percent). Meantime, imports increased at a much slower 0.6 percent to EUR 295.8 million, as higher purchases of machinery & transport equipment (11.6 percent) and miscellaneous manufactured articles (0.9 percent) were partly offset by declines in those of food & live animals (-4.8 percent) and mineral fuels, lubricants and related (-9.6 percent). Imports rose mostly from Germany (22.3 percent), Italy (12.1 percent), Turkey (45.5 percent) and Macedonia (28.9 percent).

Kosovo trade deficit increased to EUR 279.9 million in August of 2019 from EUR 276.5 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports went up 4.7 percent to EUR 31.9 million, boosted by higher sales of base metals and articles thereof (43.3 percent) and plastics, rubber and articles thereof (9.5 percent). Among major trading partners, shipments increased to India (958 percent) and Germany (10.9 percent) while those fell to Albania (-2.2 percent). Imports went up 1.6 percent to EUR 311.9 million, due to higher purchases of mineral products (0.6 percent) and transport means (30.3 percent). On the other hand, imports dropped for prepared foodstuffs, beverages & tobacco (-0.1 percent). Imports advanced from Germany (10.7 percent) and Turkey (18.3 percent).

Kosovo Trade Gap Widens 5.3% YoY in July
Kosovo trade deficit increased to EUR 296.4 million in July of 2019 from EUR 281.5 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports went up 40.5 percent to EUR 40.5 million, boosted by higher sales of base metals and articles thereof (67.7 percent); prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco (11.6 percent) and plastics, rubber and articles thereof (10.0 percent). Among major trading partners, shipments increased to India (675 percent) and Macedonia (18.7 percent) while those fell to Albania (-1.2 percent). Imports went up 8.6 percent to EUR 336.9 million, due to higher purchases of mineral products (14.2 percent) and prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco (9.1 percent). On the other hand, imports dropped for machinery & transport equipment (-0.1 percent). Imports advanced from Germany (17.6 percent) and Turkey (32.4 percent).

Kosovo Trade Deficit Narrows 9.9% YoY in June
The trade gap in Kosovo narrowed to EUR 243.1 million in June 2019 from EUR 269.8 million in the same month a year earlier. Exports slumped 13.6 percent to EUR 32.1 million, dragged down by lower sales of crude materials (-33.6 percent); food & live animals (-37.4 percent) and mineral fuels, lubricants & related materials (-84.5 percent). Among major trading partners, exports fell mainly to Macedonia (-21.7 percent), Serbia (-49.9 percent) and Switzerland (-34.1 percent). Meantime, imports dropped 10.3 percent to EUR 275.2 million, due to lower purchases of manufactured goods (-11.3 percent) and machinery & transport equipment (-20.8 percent). Imports decreased from Germany (-28.5 percent), Turkey (-2.4 percent) and Albania (-13 percent).

Kosovo trade deficit increased to EUR 289.7 million in May of 2019 from EUR 278.9 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports fell 2.9 percent to EUR 31.9 million, dragged down by lower sales of crude materials (-23 percent) while increases were recorded in shipments of manufactured goods (47.9 percent). Among major trading partners, shipments declined to Macedonia (-3.2 percent) and Serbia (-34 percent) while those rose to Albania (20.2 percent). Imports went up 3.1 percent to EUR 321.6 million, due to higher purchases of food & live animals (16.9 percent). On the other hand, imports dropped for machinery & transport equipment (-9.0 percent). Imports advanced from Turkey (17.6 percent) and China (11 percent).
