Iran Inflation Rate at 15-Month Low of 27%
The annual inflation rate in Iran declined to 27.0 percent in November 2019 from 28.3 percent in the previous month. This was the lowest inflation rate since August last year, as prices increased softer for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (29.8 percent vs 33.6 percent in October); clothing & footwear (36.1 percent vs 40.0 percent); furniture & household equipment (35.6 percent vs 42.3 percent); recreation & culture (30.2 percent vs 33.8 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (24.9 percent vs 28.4 percent); communication (1.7 percent vs 2.2 percent); health & medical services (24.2 percent vs 25.1 percent); restaurants & hotels (36.4 percent vs 38.1 percent); and education (22.3 percent vs 22.7 percent). Meantime, transport prices rose faster (33.4 percent vs 28.3 percent), while tobacco prices rebounded (1.5 percent vs -0.7 percent). On the other hand, housing & utilities inflation was steady (at 23.5 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 1.6 percent in November.

The annual inflation rate in Iran declined to 28.3 percent in October 2019 from 35.0 percent in the previous month. This was the lowest inflation rate since August last year, as prices increased softer for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (33.6 percent vs 46.0 percent in September); transport (28.3 percent vs 29.8 percent); clothing & footwear (40.0 percent vs 47.2 percent); furniture & household equipment (42.3 percent vs 57.1 percent); recreation & culture (33.8 percent vs 50.3 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (28.4 percent vs 39.3 percent); communication (2.2 percent vs 21.0 percent); health & medical services (25.1 percent vs 27,0 percent); restaurants & hotels (38.1 percent vs 44.7 percent); housing & utilities (23.5 percent vs 24.1 percent); and education (22.7 percent vs 23.3 percent), while tobacco prices fell (-0.7 percent vs 21.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.7 percent in October, the most since July.

This was the lowest inflation rate since September last year, as prices increased softer for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (46.0 percent vs 57.4 percent in August); transport (29.8 percent vs 46.0 percent); clothing & footwear (47.2 percent vs 55.2 percent); furniture & household equipment (57.1 percent vs 71.3 percent); recreation & culture (50.3 percent vs 65.9 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (39.3 percent vs 49.8 percent); communication (21.0 percent vs 27.3 percent); health & medical services (27.0 percent vs 27,9 percent); restaurants & hotels (44.7 percent vs 49.1 percent); and tobacco (21.8 percent vs 32.6 percent). Meanwhile, prices rose faster for both housing & utilities (24.1 percent vs 24.0 percent) and education (24.7 percent vs 23.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5 percent in September, the least since January last year.

The annual inflation rate in Iran declined to 41.6 percent in August 2019 from 48.0 percent in the previous month. This was the lowest inflation rate since January, as prices increased softer for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (57.4 percent vs 71.9 percent in July); housing & utilities (24.0 percent vs 24.7 percent); transport (46.0 percent vs 56.6 percent); clothing & footwear (55.2 percent vs 60.0 percent); furniture & household equipment (71.3 percent vs 80.2 percent); recreation & culture (65.9 percent vs 73.8 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (49.8 percent vs 55.4 percent); communication (27.3 percent vs 32.7 percent); health & medical services (27.9 percent vs 29.7 percent); restaurants & hotels (49.1 percent vs 51.9 percent); and tobacco (32.6 percent vs 68.4 percent). Meanwhile, education prices rose faster (23.3 percent vs 23.1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.6 percent in August, the least since January last year.

The annual inflation rate in Iran declined to 48.0 percent in July 2019 from 50.4 percent in the previous month, as prices increased softer for: food & non-alcoholic beverages (71.9 percent vs 74.1 percent in June); housing & utilities (24.7 percent vs 26.6 percent); transport (56.6 percent vs 60.0 percent); clothing & footwear (60.0 percent vs 61.3 percent); furniture & household equipment (80.2 percent vs 83.0 percent); recreation & culture (73.8 percent vs 75.6 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (55.4 percent vs 57.6 percent); communication (32.7 percent vs 35.9 percent); and tobacco (68.4 percent vs 109.6 percent). Meanwhile, prices went up faster for: health & medical services (29.7 percent vs 29.6 percent); restaurants & hotels (51.9 percent vs 50.8 percent); and education (23.1 percent vs 21.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.8 percent in July, the most since April.

The annual inflation rate in Iran declined to 50.4 percent in June 2019 from 52.1 percent in the previous month, as prices increased softer for: food & beverages (74.1 percent vs 81.7 percent in May); transport (60.0 percent vs 62.4 percent); furniture & household equipment (83.0 percent vs 83.2 percent); recreation & culture (75.6 percent vs 75.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (57.6 percent vs 58.9 percent); communication (35.9 percent vs 36.7 percent), and tobacco (109.6 percent vs 119.6 percent). Meanwhile, prices rose faster for: housing & utilities (26.6 percent vs 25.4 percent); clothing & footwear (61.3 percent vs 60.8 percent); health (29.6 percent vs 28.6 percent); restaurant & hotels (50.8 percent vs 50.3 percent). On the other hand, education inflation was steady at 21.3 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.8 percent in June, easing from a 1.5 percent gain in May.
